Asker meetings Fjord for the second time this year. Last these teams met did was Fjord all out on 35 runs. But this time it was a close fight. Asker wins toss and Khayyam choose batting first. Tara and Israar as opners. Asker get a nice start when Fjord give alot of extra runs. But that opportunity did not Israar care of when he was catch out after playing 5 balls. Qasim's form has failed the last 4 matches. Statistiken shows he has just 24 runs in the last four games and thats why Hashir comes in as one down. Hashir starts early with a few nice shots and provide Asker that little extra they needed and put Asker in a good position when Asker has 40 runs in 3 overs. Then again, needless shot from Hashir when he gets catch out after a nice start. Where is the responsibility !? Total unnecessary and Asker loses two wickets early and Fjord are back again. Khayyam comes as the next one in and it all starts quietly, until Tara gets clean out lbw. Qasim its the next one in and Khayyam starts play his shots and Asker gets more importent runs. Qasim and Khayyam are doing fairly quiet and takes charge after Asker lost three early wickets.
Qasim starts a little slowly with his fine shots and provide Asker more runs on the scoreboard. The plan is to stand there until the break but then Khayyam catch out on the off side. Disappointed and sorry for Asker when everything went according to plan. Mehdi is the next man in but he comes pretty fast back again after being clean bowled. Next one is Mirza but he also has bad time. He is also gets bowled and again NO responsibility !!! Ali M is the next one in while Qasim stands there. He takes responsibility and makes 70 runs on 70 balls and this is something very much needed for Asker. Qasim , well played ! After Qasim gets out , everyone gets out but thanks to Qasim and his responsibility , Asker give Fjord a target on 165.
Qasim starts the first over with 3-4 extra runs. Bad start for Asker, but Tara seemed to be in shape today. He makes three clean bowled and Fjord struggling when scoreboard shows 15 / 3. So begins the worst of all, Asker lose all total 12 catch's and Fjord's batsmen Rangan made 60 runs. He was lucky because Asker missed his 4 catches. 3 catches was SO EASY ! Its seemd like Fjord will win the match quite so easy but then things began to turn around completely.
Waqas with gorgeous bowling, taking 3 important wickets, and at the other side takes Mirza 1 wicket and Asker are back in the game! Fjord need 15 runs with 2 wickets in hand, then Mirza takes another one. Fjord need 6 runs with one wicket. Mehdi enters the bowling hoping to take the last wickets but Fjord manages to finally make the final runs, but they got a tough job ! Delightful end to the game after the fight could have gone either way. Simply put, had Asker taken their catches so had them won the match. There have been pure losses in recent games for Asker. Only a win against Haugerud but Asker team , can they improve?
