Our first game against Sandefjord this year at Drammen early in the morning. Sandefjord wins toss and choosing batting. Tara and Qasim take early wickets and Asker had a good start, Intil on .. Sandefjords batsmen Kumar and Butt begins to look dangerous out and their partnership was something Sandefjord now needed. Kumar was dropped twice, but Asker pushed on and they got something out of it when Israar takes a nice catch in Qasim's over. More pressure put on from Asker and Sandefjord batsmen start getting desperate after boundries when Asker not let them take single double. Ibrahim be taken into bowling and it was a good idea, when he took Butt's wicket while Qasim was the catcher. Sandefjord becomes more desperate after runs. And they got it, Mahroof makes 33 runs and Ayoubi complete rest when he makes 15 runs in seven balls. After much good in the field and a lot of pressure on Sandefjord, Sandefjord come back again and give Asker a target of 172. Poor bowling the last 5 overs achieved such a high target, when Sandefjord had 139 runs in 25 overs.
Tara and Israar starts for Asker this time in the batting. Tara is the first on the way back when he gets catch out and he makes 8 runs in 27 balls. Qasim is the next man in but he is back again after just 6 balls, when he gets out LBW. Khayyam comes in as the next one and small start with two boundires the off side. Asker starts to get going but then Israar gets catch out and Asker puts theirself into trouble now. Mehdi comes in and together with Khayyam they stand there for a while. But then Sandefjord get their main bowlers in, Khayyam and Mehdi struggling against their bowling. They still stand there for a while together and make sure we do not lose more wickets. Then Khayyam being bowled and Asker got more problems now. After this ,Asker losing their batsmen very early, but Ali M did his job. He makes 22 runs in 17 balls with one four and one six, but that was not enough for Asker and Asker gets all out and Sandefjord win by 53 runs.
Much positive in the fielding by Asker but again, same things again and again, Asker struggling simply in the last overs. Asker's batting has been disappointing this year and it continues....
